When you're planning trips, do you ever stop and think about how nice it would be to have a local on call to answer your questions quickly and easily? If you're traveling to the Emerald Coast, then this can be your reality!
In April 2023, the Destin-Fort Walton Beach tourism board launched a new “Mom Chat” feature on the Little Adventures section of their website, giving visitors an easy way to seek advice from locals. It is intended for families visiting the Emerald Coast, but it can be useful to anyone. To access this feature, all you have to do is log onto the beach tourism website (https://www.destinfwb.com/little-adventures/) and start a live chat with a local mom (also called an "Online Scout"). Then, you can start asking your questions!

This feature is a handy, personalized alternative to traditional tourism guides like brochures and books. It is awesome for everyone involved. Visitors get heartfelt answers to their burning questions, and participating moms get to share their firsthand expertise. One mom shared with Travel + Leisure: "As a lifelong local, who is now a mom, I love getting to experience the adventures that I did growing up through the eyes of my boys and now I get to share that with visiting families."
