Halloween is only a few weeks away! Luckily, the City of Destin has a few events that are sure to put you in a spooky mood.
The Destin Community Center on Stahlman Avenue will host Fall Fest on Monday, October 24 from 5pm to 8pm. There will be lots of fun activities at this exciting, festive event! The main events will be the kids' costume contest and an all ages Jack-O-Lantern contest. Other activities and features include carnival games, bounce houses, a cakewalk, and a ghostly cafe.
To participate in the costume contest, kids ages 0-12 will need to be registered between 5pm-6pm and be ready by the start of the contest at 6pm. To participate in the Jack-O-Lantern contest, bring your best pre-carved pumpkin to the community center before 3pm. Tickets for food and games will be sold on-site.
This festival will benefit Harvest House, a local non-profit, so attendees are kindly asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry.
The Destin Library will host a spooky storytime for kids on Tuesday, October 18 at 6pm. Intended for children ages 8-11, this event will give kids the chance to hear creepy Halloween tales from librarian Laura Harris. Kids are welcome to wear pajamas and bring their favorite stuffed animals! Snacks will be provided to attendees.
If you're planning to attend, please register in advance on okaloosa.librarycalendar.com by clicking on the Spooky Tales event and filling out the form. Click here to go directly to the event page.
